This is an Iwaki Magnet Pump industrial pump assembly consisting of a magnetic-drive centrifugal pump coupled to an electric motor. The magnetic-drive design transfers motor power to the pump impeller through a magnetic coupling rather than through a conventional shaft arrangement with an external mechanical seal.
The pump is configured as a horizontal centrifugal unit with a horizontal flanged suction connection at the front of the pump and a vertical flanged discharge connection at the top. This arrangement is commonly used for installation directly into industrial process and circulation piping.
A manually operated lever valve is installed directly above the discharge connection. This allows the connected discharge line to be manually isolated or regulated. The valve is fitted between flanged connections and includes a long operating handle for manual operation.
The pump housing uses a robust bolted construction and is directly coupled to an industrial electric motor. The motor includes a terminal box and protective earth connection. The complete pump and motor assembly is supported by mounting feet, allowing it to be installed on a suitable base or machine frame.
A visible warning label on the pump states DO NOT RUN DRY. This is an important operating instruction for the unit and the pump should therefore be supplied with the appropriate process liquid during operation in accordance with the manufacturer's operating requirements.
The manufacturer's identification plate is marked Iwaki Magnet Pump, Iwaki Co., Ltd., Japan and carries a CE marking. Additional technical information is present on the nameplate, but the model number and individual performance values are not sufficiently legible in the supplied photograph to state them reliably.
