This is a complete industrial pneumatic control valve assembly consisting of a flanged globe-style process valve, pneumatic diaphragm actuator and a Siemens SIPART PS2 smart positioner. The complete unit is identified by plant tag TCV-11081.

The valve uses a linear globe-valve arrangement, in which movement of the actuator stem changes the position of the internal valve plug relative to the seat. This provides modulating control rather than only simple open / closed operation and makes the assembly suitable for regulating process variables such as flow, pressure or temperature.

Operation is provided by a large pneumatic spring-diaphragm actuator. Instrument air acts on the actuator diaphragm to move the valve stem, while the internal spring arrangement provides the mechanical return force. This gives the valve a defined spring-return operating principle if pneumatic control pressure is removed.

Valve positioning is controlled by a Siemens SIPART PS2 electropneumatic positioner. The positioner receives the process-control command and regulates pneumatic pressure to the actuator so that the actual valve position follows the requested position accurately.

The Siemens unit is a HART-compatible smart positioner, allowing it to be integrated with industrial control and instrumentation systems. In addition to basic valve positioning, this type of smart positioner provides electronic monitoring and configuration functions for commissioning and maintenance.

Stainless-steel pneumatic instrument tubing is already fitted between the control equipment and actuator. The positioner is mounted directly to the actuator / valve linkage so that it can monitor actual valve-stem movement and continuously correct the actuator position.

The process valve has flanged inlet and outlet connections for installation into fixed industrial pipework. The valve body uses a bolted bonnet construction and is connected to the actuator through a rigid yoke and stem arrangement.

The actuator carries a separate manufacturer's identification plate, while the Siemens positioner also has its own detailed identification and approval label. Unfortunately, the exact actuator model, Siemens order code, valve size, pressure class and several other stamped specifications are too blurred in the supplied photographs to reproduce reliably and have therefore not been estimated.
